The Maker

Cory Bean is a metal artist based in New Brunswick, Canada. He has attended the New England School of Metalwork in Auburn, Maine; as well as attended the Artist Blacksmith program at Haliburton School of Art and Design in Haliburton, Ontario.

Specializing in the arts of bladesmithing and blacksmithing, he strives to create both functional and beautiful works of art and tooling. Pieces of work can range from a piece of decorative ironwork to a specially crafted blade. Inspired at an early age from examples of historical metal art and tools from different historical eras, Cory first took a course and swung a hammer onto hot steel at the age of 15. From there on, trial and error and guidance from others in the craft have been driving forces in the progress of his career.
